PokéScape was run as a non-commercial project and attracted a lot of interest and participants in January 2023. A cross between the popular Pokémon and RuneScape game franchises, players worked together as a team to complete activities to catch, level, evolve and battle with their "Runémon". The goal of the game is to defeat all of the Gym Leaders, win all 8 gym badges and to defeat the Elite Four.

ICONS AND IDENTITY

The 8 gym badges players must win before they can challenge the Elite Four. Each badge makes use of symbols/elements associated with the respective gym leader, personality and in-game environment.

WIREFRAME

As the game is built in a Discord Bot, all interface and controls are restricted to Discord limitations. While these limitations constrain our interface options visually, there is enough flexibility within the restrictions to create a smooth experience for players as they battle with their Runémon.

RUNEDEX

As players catch and level their Runémon, they may view their RunéDex to see stats, moves, evolve levels and other important information about their Runémon.

CUTSCENES

After completing key sections of the game, players are presented with story updates. These serve to guide progression and immerse the player in the world of PokéScape.
